The Martin County Gators just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Northeastern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.
On Monday, Martin County beat Pasquotank County 48-35. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Gators' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Panthers are ranked 192nd).

Martin County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamarion Larry out in front who shot 43% from the field to rack up 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Larry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Moore, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five steals.
Martin County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasquotank County only racked up three.
Meanwhile, Northeastern didn't have too much trouble with First Flight on Saturday as they won 83-66.
Northeastern's win came from a few key players that Martin County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tevaughn Bell, who put up 30 points. Z'Kobe Whidbee was another key player, putting up 24 points.
Martin County's record now sits at 19-3. As for Northeastern, their record is now 15-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Martin County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.9 points per game. However, it's not like Northeastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 71.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Martin County couldn't quite get it done against Northeastern in their previous matchup back in January as they fell 63-56. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
