After a string of four wins, the Notus Pirates's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rimrock. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Notus in their matchups with Rimrock: they've now lost three in a row.
Loss or not, Notus got some senior leadership from Allison Grandeen and Paige Emly. Grandeen scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Emly. scored 16 points along with seven assists and six steals. That was a full 50% of Notus' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nayeli Vargas, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Notus' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Rimrock, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Notus will head out on the road to take on Victory Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rimrock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
