The Mineral Wells Rams won the last time they faced the Gainesville Leopards, and things went their way on Friday too. Mineral Wells managed a 47-41 victory over Gainesville. Given Mineral Wells' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Gainesville is ranked 1151st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mineral Wells to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cadence Colwell, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Aniya Richardson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Mineral Wells now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Gainesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Mineral Wells will head out on the road to face off against Windthorst at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Gainesville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Throckmorton at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. Throckmorton's defense has only allowed 22.3 points per game this season, so Gainesville's offense will have their work cut out for Gainesville.
