Baseball Game Preview: North Dorchester Eagles vs. Washington Jaguars

North Dorchester and Washington are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Dorchester will be strutting in after a victory while Washington will be coming in after a defeat.

North Dorchester came out on top against Kent County on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Eagles blew past the Trojans 14-1. Considering the Eagles have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gage Kral spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. North Dorchester is 2-1 when Kral allows three or fewer earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Reid Browhan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Caleb Nater, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Dorchester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-1 to Mardela. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Jaguars, who fell 5-3 when the teams last met back in May of 2025.

North Dorchester's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

North Dorchester skirted past Washington 4-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
