Basketball Recap: Edgewood Gets the Win

While Edgewood's victory against Pineapple Cove Classical Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Wolves slipped by the Patriots 57-56 on Tuesday. The Red Wolves haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Edgewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Manan Patel, who shot 64% from the field en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Patel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Smith, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Edgewood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aiden Elrod, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Caudly Dieudonne, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they will square off against Odyssey Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
