The Adrian/Ellsworth Dragons will face off against the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
If Adrian/Ellsworth beats Dawson-Boyd with eight runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Dragons had just enough and edged out Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dawson-Boyd ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over Canby. The Blackjacks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Colten Bothun was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Kameron Sather was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Dawson-Boyd: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Nathan Hansen was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Dawson-Boyd's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-2.
Adrian/Ellsworth might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Dawson-Boyd in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Dragons have more luck at home instead of on the road?
