The Walthill Blujays put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They wrapped up 2023 with a 63-46 win over East Butler. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Walthill has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walthill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Phillips, who scored 16 points. The game was Phillips' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Parker, who scored 13 points.
Walthill pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 15 points. As for East Butler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Walthill will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against High Plains at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. High Plains will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Walthill is ranked 42nd). East Butler will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cedar Bluffs at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
