Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Cano, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 21 points and five boards. Those 21 points gave Cano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Smith, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds.
North Broward Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Country Day only racked up nine assists.
Despite the defeat, Miami Country Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Miguel Orbe went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and six boards. With that strong performance, Orbe is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Daltyn Simon was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.
