After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, St. Ignatius College Preparatory brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Valley Christian. Considering St. Ignatius College Preparatory's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Meanwhile, Saint Francis has not lost a match in the yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Serra a 2-0 shutout.
Saint Francis was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Reece Wyatt and
Andrew Huber, who scored both of Saint Francis' goals. The pair have combined for a total of ten so far this season.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8-2. As for Saint Francis, they pushed their record up to 16-0-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
