D2 District 1 (8 Man) recap Oct. 30, 2012
Sacred Heart extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 1 (8 Man) this week by beating Diller-Odell, 49-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Irish.
Lewiston's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Nouzovsky threw for 23 yards and Austin Schmutz had 32 yards receiving. On the ground Hayden Albers chipped in 29 yards. Connor Barr helped Lewiston's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
Thanks to the talents of Austin Vitosh and Ely Hroch the Griffin have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Vitosh leads the league in passing with 660 yards, while Hroch has rushed for 928 yards this season. The Tigers' Schmutz leads the league in receiving yards with 455 on 20 catches.
Sterling led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Wynot.
