South Mecklenburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myles Howard, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Houpt, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Myers Park's strategy against Berry on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Myers Park blew Berry out of the water with a 71-42 final score. The Mustangs pushed the score to 56-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals had little chance of recovering from.
Myers Park's win came from a few key players South Mecklenburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bram Early, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Sweet, who scored nine points along with seven boards and five blocks.
Myers Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.
Myers Park has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for South Mecklenburg, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as South Mecklenburg and Myers Park are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. South Mecklenburg hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.7 points per game. However, it's not like Myers Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
