Canyon View and Cedar are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Falcons will welcome the Reds at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
Canyon View had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Parowan on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 18-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Maisy Brady made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Brady was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Sadie Sams was incredible, firing off three home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Cedar had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Flyers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Reds have posted since March 7th.
Cedar saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinzie Hawkins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Canyon View's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Cedar, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Canyon View's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cedar, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Canyon View continue to outrun the ball?
