The West Field Longhorns will take on the Clearfield Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clearfield will be up against a hot West Field squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Longhorns' way against Mountain Crest on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-1 victory.

Ayzlee Sessions and Rylee Andreasen did most of the damage at the plate: Sessions went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Andreasen went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Sessions a new career-high. Brylee Leatherwood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Field kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearfield). They blew past Roy 29-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Jenna Lloyd made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skylar Davis, who went 3-for-4 with eight RBI, two triples, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lyla Leonhardt, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
West Field's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Clearfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Field hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like Clearfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
