Wagner will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton in at 7:00 PM. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will be strutting in after a win while Wagner will be stumbling in from a loss.
Wagner had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They took a 0-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central.
Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton took care of business in their home opener. They blew past Stanley County 40-7.
Wagner's defeat took them down to 0-1 while Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's victory pulled them up to write [team] current record. A win for Wagner would reverse both their bad luck and Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's good luck. We'll see if Wagner manages to pull off that tough task or if Mt. Vernon/Plankinton keeps their momentum going instead.
