Edison got a great performance from Jackson Naumovich as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Naumovich has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Derek Potts, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. John Dobson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Edison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hayfield made easy work of Annandale on Tuesday and carried off a 10-2 victory.
Braden Feaster looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Hayfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edison came up short against Hayfield when the teams last played back in April, falling 6-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
