Southwestern won the last time they faced Valmeyer and things went their way on Sunday too. The Piasa Birds came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Piasa Birds.

Southwestern easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-10.

Southwestern's win bumped their record up to 3-1-2. As for Valmeyer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-4-1.

Looking ahead, Southwestern will challenge East Alton-Wood River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valmeyer, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Sparta at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
