The Independence Falcons waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Bernstein by a score of 71-63. Given Independence's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Bernstein is ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
AMARIUS "AR" ROWEL was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. The match was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was JAMES TANNER, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Independence's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Bernstein, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-3.
Independence and Mark Keppel will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bernstein won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kennedy at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th.
