Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Navy's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

IMG Academy Navy lost against Pinellas Park back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ascenders took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots.

Joonho Song and Omari Swinton did some serious damage despite the final result: Song scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Swinton scored a run while going 2-for-4. Song is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Bodhi Aldridge also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

IMG Academy Navy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-8. As for Pinellas Park, their record now sits at 8-12.

Looking ahead, IMG Academy Navy is taking a road trip to challenge Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ascenders 3.7, the Bulls 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Pinellas Park, they will be playing at home against Owensboro at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
