It was a good run, but the Childress Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. 2024 welcomed they with a 55-31 loss courtesy of Idalou. While losing is never fun, Childress can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while Idalou is ranked 35th).
Childress lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Jalomo, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Childress' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-16. As for Idalou, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Childress will take on Abernathy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Idalou, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
