Basketball Recap: Trenton Skates Past Worth County with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trenton). They claimed a resounding 76-34 victory over the Worth County Tigers. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Despite the defeat, Worth County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cole Ruby went 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ruby has scored all season. Hayden Sanders was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Trenton's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Worth County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Trenton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Putnam County at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Worth County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Worth County Tigers challenge the North Andrew Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
