The Oxford Pirates had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 75-67 to Quaboag Regional. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oxford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andruw Martinez , who scored 21 points. Brady Marqoupis was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Oxford's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Quaboag Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxford will face off against Assabet Valley RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Quaboag Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Uxbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
