If the Weequahic Indians were feeling good off their 57-36 takedown of the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Weequahic took a serious blow against College Achieve on Thursday, falling 85-43. While losing is never fun, Weequahic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while College Achieve is ranked 100th).
Despite the defeat, Weequahic had strong showings from Tyhir Barlow, who scored 26 points along with two steals, and Hekeimu Williams, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Weequahic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for College Achieve, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Weequahic will look to defend their home court on Sunday against Hillside at 11:00 a.m. As for College Achieve, they will head out on the road to take on Hudson Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
