Geraldine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Sardis Lions 41-14. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.
A big part of Geraldine's victory came down to the chemistry between Jon Beck Wade and his top target Cooper Johnson. Beck Wade threw for 127 yards and one touchdown on perfect 6-for-6 passing while Johnson gained 145 total yards. Johnson got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 61 yards.
Geraldine will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Asbury at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
