Northwest has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Springfield Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Spartans like a good challenge.
Last Friday, Northwest blew past the Falcons, posting a 62-14 victory at home. Given Northwest's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Falcons are ranked 674th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Springfield has not done well against the Ravens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Springfield took down the Ravens 53-37. That 16 point margin sets a new team best for Springfield this season.
Anthony Ahern continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Siegferth, who scored four points along with five assists and two steals.
Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Springfield's record is now 8-10.
Northwest couldn't quite finish off the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 68-65. Thankfully for Northwest, Trenton Stevens (who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
