Kennedy extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 3 this week by beating Hamilton, 40-10. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Hornets.
Kennedy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ladaris Johnson threw for 121 and two touchdowns and Ricky Fleming had 48 yards receiving. On the ground Carnez Gant chipped in 114 yards. Xavier Roberts helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 40 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Johnson of Sheldon Hodge's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 750. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Strayhorn's Greg Caston has rushed for 1262 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ladarious Walker. The Broad Street star has 16 catches for 357 yards.
The Hornets made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,407 from 7,938. The improvement came about via a 40-10 victory over the Lions last week.
