J.P. McCaskey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lleana Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Warwick got themselves on the board against Governor Mifflin on Thursday, but Governor Mifflin never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kate Shaak, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Governor Mifflin off the board. Shaak has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Warwick got a massive performance out of Marlee Martin, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-2. Those five RBI gave Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Heisey, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base.
Warwick lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Warwick has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for J.P. McCaskey, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. J.P. McCaskey has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Warwick struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
J.P. McCaskey might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Warwick when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Red Tornado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
