It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Memorial Day Matadors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Harvester Christian Academy 34-6 at home. The victory was just what Memorial Day needed coming off of a 63-6 loss in their prior matchup.
Assir Best had a dynamite game for Memorial Day, rushing for 179 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. Best was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Tyler Kindle was another key contributor, throwing for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Memorial Day's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Harvester Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Memorial Day will square off against Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Memorial Day are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Harvester Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
