Basketball Recap: Eduprize Open's Loss Ends 23-Game Winning Streak at Home

After a string of 16 wins, Eduprize Open's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open Fire Frogs by a score of 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 1, 2024.

Despite the loss, Eduprize Open still got an impressive performance from Aj Thomas, who posted 23 points. Thomas' evening made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Khalil Lias, who put up 14 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Holly, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points and six boards. Braylon Haman was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Eduprize Open's defeat ended a 23-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 21-2. As for Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1-1.

Eduprize Open wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-55 win against PHH Prep Open on the 22nd. Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open has also already played their next contest (against Eduprize Open), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
