Even though Pacific Baptist has not done well against the Seahawks recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Pacific Baptist managed a 69-63 victory over the Seahawks. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Pacific Baptist found their leader in underclassman Kevin Ullrich, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ullrich has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Bird, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Faith Baptist Academy pushed their score all the way to 81 back in January, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 87-81 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pacific Baptist. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in December of 2023 (68), Faith Baptist Academy still had to take the loss.
Pacific Baptist pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Faith Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Pacific Baptist didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Swordsmen when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 87-81 win. Will Pacific Baptist repeat their success, or do the Swordsmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
