Ashlynn Thomas 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Emma Putman 2025 and Aedre Ault 2028 did most of the damage at the plate: Putman 2025 went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ault 2028 went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie White 2027, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belpre only posted a batting average of .259.
Meanwhile, while Warren put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Gallia Academy. The Warriors walked away with a 5-0 win over the Blue Devils. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
DeLaney Gates was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Warren's record now sits at 7-10. As for Eastern, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Warren's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastern has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Warren, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Eastern's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eastern suffered a grim 15-9 defeat to Warren in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
