After flying high against the A.C. Reynolds Rockets on Friday, the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks came back down to earth. Hardin Valley Academy took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knoxville Catholic. Hardin Valley Academy has struggled against Knoxville Catholic recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Knoxville Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Asbaty, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Juice Eleam, who scored 16 points.
Hardin Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Knoxville Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Hardin Valley Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maryville at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Knoxville Catholic and King's Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. King's Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Knoxville Catholic is ranked 21st).
