After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherry Creek, the Douglas County Huskies were happy to have found some success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over Legacy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Douglas County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Vaughn Baldwin out in front who scored 20 points along with 5 steals. Gavin Dale was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Several Lightning players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ari Harpring, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Delescinskis, who scored 14 points.
Douglas County's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Legacy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Douglas County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Legacy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highlands Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th.
