Alonso and Plant are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Alonso Ravens are on the road again on Thursday and plays the Plant Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. Alonso will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Plant is ranked 135th).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Alonso had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over the Warriors.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Plant beat Freedom 40-34 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Plant.
The victory got Alonso back to even at 13-13. As for Plant, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Alonso suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to Plant in their previous matchup back in January. Can Alonso avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
