The Hardin-Central Bulldogs waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Southwest 45-21. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hardin-Central has managed all season.
It was another big night for Libby Fifer, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ester Kincaid, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Southwest still got an impressive performance from Emalee Granville, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Southwest were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hardin-Central's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Southwest, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Hardin-Central will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. Carrollton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Southwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Norborne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
