Carson posted their closest victory since January 10th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Norman Charter and snuck past 68-65.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-33 victory over East Rowan. Given Northwest Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while East Rowan is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Carson came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwest Cabarrus when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 62-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Northwest Cabarrus' Jordan Gonder, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
