Potomac Senior has gone 10-0 against Gar-Field recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Potomac Senior is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They fell 68-58 to Peninsula Catholic on Saturday.
Despite the defeat, Potomac Senior had strong showings from Yusef Navins, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds, and Amani Asare, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Grundy, who posted six points.
Meanwhile, Gar-Field had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They secured a 65-61 W over the Eagles.
Gar-Field found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Jason Bell, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 25 points and four steals. The match was Bell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijhah Walden, who had eight points and three steals.
Gar-Field is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Potomac Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Potomac Senior has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Gar-Field struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
