The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics were the 80-47 winner over the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lyle/Pacelli fell 71-58 to LeRoy-Ostrander on Friday. Lyle/Pacelli's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Leading LeRoy-Ostrander to victory were Reid Hungerholt and Camden Hungerholt. Hungerholt scored 24 points, while Hungerholt scored 27 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The match was Hungerholt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Carter Sweeney was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Lyle/Pacelli's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyle/Pacelli will take on Glenville-Emmons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. LeRoy-Ostrander and Kingsland will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kingsland will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
