The D'Iberville Warriors will head out on the road to take on the West Harrison Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (D'Iberville has five wins , while West Harrison has six dating back to last season).
On Friday, D'Iberville blew past Harrison Central, posting a 42-6 win. That looming 42-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Chan Harvey and Jaylen Johnson. Harvey rushed for 100 yards and three scores on only nine carries while Johnson rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.
D'Iberville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 327 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

D'Iberville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Walley and Chaston Ramsey. Ramsey is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another thorn in Harrison Central's side was KJ Washington, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made four total tackles.
Meanwhile, West Harrison didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Martin on Friday, but they still walked away with a 26-21 victory. The 26-point effort marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
D'Iberville better keep an eye on Jordan Stapleton. He was instrumental in West Harrison's win, picking up 102 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 71 yards and one score. Sean Fairley helped out on the ground, rushing for 103 yards.
One reason for the win was West Harrison's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Eddie Hartwell and Jazear Carter, who racked up four sacks between them. West Harrison got some further help from Jaivon Anderson: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.
D'Iberville's record is now 5-0. As for West Harrison, their record now sits at an identical 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. D'Iberville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 377.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for D'Iberville against West Harrison in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 46-0 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
