The Trinity Prep Lions suffered their biggest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 89-50 loss at the hands of Furtah Prep. While losing is never fun, Trinity Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Furtah Prep is ranked 95th).
When it comes to explaining why Trinity Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allan Ray IV. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Ray IV continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ace Stevens was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Trinity Prep has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Furtah Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Peachtree Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Peachtree Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday. As for Furtah Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Cristo Rey Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
