On Monday, the Riverside Warriors faced the Powdersville Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Riverside came out on top against Powdersville by a score of 55-48. The win was nothing new for Riverside as they're now sitting on four straight.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Assemian, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Kreger, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Powdersville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Riverside's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Powdersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.
Riverside will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Powdersville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Wren is ranked 30th, while Powdersville is ranked 17th).
