The Calumet Christian Patriots won the last time they faced the Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Calumet Christian strolled past Hammond Academy of Science & Tech with points to spare, taking the game 57-42.
It was another big night for Brad Nymeyer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolton Foutz, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech still got an impressive performance from Jermaine Bartlett, who scored 24 points along with four steals. That was a full 57.1% of Hammond Academy of Science & Tech's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Ridle, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Calumet Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for Hammond Academy of Science & Tech, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calumet Christian will take on La Lumiere Blue at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Lumiere Blue will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Hammond Academy of Science & Tech will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Ellison at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
