Tell City has been on the road for four straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Perry Central Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tell City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Tell City earned a 56-49 win over Boonville. The win was just what Tell City needed coming off of a 73-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Tell City found their leader in underclassman Reese Ford, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ford has scored at least a third of Tell City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Lloyd, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Perry Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Hills. While losing is never fun, Perry Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Heritage Hills is ranked 47th).
Tell City now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Perry Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Tell City didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Perry Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 37-32 victory. Will Tell City repeat their success, or does Perry Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
