La Porte scored a stunning upset when it knocked off North Shore, 27-10. At the time, the Mustangs were ranked seventh in the state, while the Bulldogs were 148th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Shore, who took down seventh ranked North Shore, 27-10.
North Shore's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Micah Thomas has thrown for 849 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Kevian DeLeon has 12 catches for 371 yards. Thomas also leads the league in rushing with 734 yards.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Port Arthur Memorial and La Porte meet this week. The Titans features well-regarded freshman Kameron Martin while Jeff Lareau's team has Hoza Scott, a sought after junior.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Port Arthur Memorial takes on the Bulldogs. As it stands, Kenny Harrison's team is in first, while La Porte is in third.
The Bulldogs extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating David Aymond's team, 27-10. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
