The Clark Cougars were the 68-61 winner over the Madison Mavericks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Clark had to suffer through a rough 54-26 loss at the hands of the Mavericks. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clark has scored all season.
Clark struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Madison racked up 12 assists.
Madison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Moreno out in front who scored 11 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Dhaylen Stanton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 21-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clark will take on the Jaguars at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnson has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Madison, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. Reagan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Mavericks likes a good challenge.
