The Coral Gables Cavaliers won the last time they faced the Mater Academy Charter Lions, and things went their way  on Thursday too. Coral Gables walked away with  a   65-53  victory over Mater Academy Charter. The  victory made it back-to-back wins for Coral Gables.
  Gabriel Chang was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 22 points along with six  rebounds and two  steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was  Marcellis Williams, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.
 Despite the loss, Mater Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from   Sebastian Tello, who  scored 14 points along with seven  rebounds.  Ethan Davis was another key contributor,  scoring 12 points along with five  rebounds.
 Coral Gables' win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Mater Academy Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
 Coral Gables will head out on the road to  challenge  Southridge at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Southridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mater Academy Charter on the road again  on Saturday and play against Elite Academy at 6:30  p.m.  on January 20th. Elite Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mater Academy Charter in Florida (Elite Academy is ranked 134th, while Mater Academy Charter is ranked 271st).
