The Superior Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Fort Thomas on the road and fell 81-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Superior in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now lost nine in a row.
Superior's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Sandoval, who scored ten points. Antonio Lopez was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Fort Thomas found their leader in underclassman Channing Wilson, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Secody, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Superior has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Fort Thomas, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.
Superior will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. As for Fort Thomas, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baboquivari is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
