The Snow Canyon Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Dixie Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Snow Canyon beat Cedar 67-57.
Owen Mackay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Snow Canyon's points. Trey Kelsch was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Dixie faced Pine View in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dixie came out on top against Pine View by a score of 61-50 on Friday.
It was another big night for Kyle Lemke, who almost dropped a triple-double on 29 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breckon Robinson, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Dixie, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Snow Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Dixie when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Snow Canyon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
