Softball Recap: Dundalk Has No Trouble Against Parkville

Dundalk won the last time they faced Parkville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Owls blew past the Knights 12-6. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Julie Burger was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burger was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Woods, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brooke Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Dundalk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Dundalk's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Parkville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
