The Fowler Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crowley County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fowler in their matchups with Crowley County: they've now lost four in a row.
Fowler lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hagen McCuistion, who scored ten points along with three steals. McCuistion has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Gottbehuet, who scored 13 points.
Fowler struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Anthoni Walter was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Malaki McNeal was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and two steals.
Fowler's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Crowley County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Fowler will head out on the road to square off against Thomas MacLaren School at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Thomas MacLaren School is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Crowley County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holly at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Holly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
