Softball Recap: Temple Has No Trouble Against Bryan

Temple barely beat Bryan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Vikings on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Brooke Knox made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Madyson Combs was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Glory Foreman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Temple and bumps their season record up to 12-9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Bryan, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Temple is set to take on their familiar foe Copperas Cove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bryan will challenge rival Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
